My sons has a very nice MC300DS that has become very microphonic when he switches to his distortion channel (Peavey 5150 head with 212 or 412 cab). It seems to have gotten very bad over the past year forcing him to run clean only. We retubed the amp with no improvement. I suspect the super 88 pups have become microphonic. I removed one to inspect and it looks like the brown plastic covers are permanently attached so there is no way to pot them in wax. Does anyone know a place that can repair these pups? I have not been successful finding oem replacements and would like to keep the guitar original if possible. Thanks VBC |

Test the guitar using a solid state amp....go to a guitar store if you don't have one. mk |
