Hello Jim,
I've got a question on my AE40 O.S. I cannot find any information on this. I bought it in 93 or 94, and got no paperwork from the guitar shop. I don't care because I have no intention of ever letting it go. It's a great guitar and I love it. I saw one bit of info from someone who said they had one, but the info dated from 2002. I am looking to find info on replacement saddles, machines, and other component parts. It also has a weird serial number. It is #295091216. I think it's a quilted or tiger maple top, but don't know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Here are a couple of pages from an Ibanez catalog showing the AE40OS and a picture of mine. Great guitar, but somehow not very popular. Wonder why?

Thanks Ace,
It feels good to know that someone else out there has info and the same model as one does.
Your AE40 looks great. I guess the reason they weren't popular is because not enough people got them into their hands to play. I've been using this for recording for 10 years now, and all my others with exception of one(which is a full dreadnought and not a cutaway), don't give me the tonal quality and playability I look for.
Thanks for the info. Any other information would be much appreciated.

The problem with the AE models at that time was teh factory had so many problems making them, The model bounced from factory to factory and Ibanez was just strating to get back in teh acoustic business and had no strength to sell a high end acoustic, They basically stopped selling acoustics through out the mid 1980's and did not really try to get back into the market till the early 1990's.

Now they are strong in acoustcis and have soemthing like 100 models.
