The Starfield Amps,

We did not carry these in the USA but Bill Cummisky signed the Starfield Logo with his hand writing, I remember this well, When I was at Hoshino we had many samples sent to us of the Starfield Amps, This was probably around 1991 or so when Joe Hoshino was really into the Starfield project. This Project was not part of the Hoshino USA destribution, because Tom Tananka our President at the time did not want to make two seperate lines, He wanted just Ibanez, Joe Hoshino In Japan wanted a seperate line called Starfield, So the Starfield project was handled through the Hoshino West Coast office.

This was Chris Kelly, Mace Baily and Mike Lipe. Mace flew to Japan and came down with Chicken pox the firest day, He was locked away in a Japanese hosptal for 10 days and then sent home. Funny story but poor Mace missed out on all that party time in Japan, Trust me teh Japanese can out drink just about anyone.

I treied to get the link but could not get anything from the web site.

hehe..amazing story :-)
so it kind of stopped because of the "quarell" between the involved parts, is what I get out of it. My english isnt the best , so there might some other " hidden" infoformation I didnt pick up on. Anyway..thank you. Sounds like you have lived a very interesting life ..congratulations :-)

Jimih and Jim:

There also used to be a guitar line called Starfield, I still play one of them, and they were (are) pretty darn good; made in u.s.a. if I remember right.

For your interest: There is a Starfield Catalogue up on the Meinl site: www.musik-meinl.de
Go to Service-Download; click Katalog Archiv; Ibanez Elektronik and find the year 1988: Starfield Road Amp, obvisiously built in GB.

A few years later they came up with these blue colored amps by the same name and logo, a line of preamps, power amps etc.

Thanks ! Its really a great player. I havent had it for long. I think the clean is a bit too dark. Do you have any tips and tricks to it ? You can write me at my email if you want: jimmihove@hotmail.com

I have just played the amp with my Guild es335 style guitar, that surely made it more bright ! Awesome amp. Buy it if you come across it. Far beyond any marshall valve combo that Ive heard and had.
and with my 2700 Artist (Ibanez) it surely is dark, but hey that will show my dark side ! uhhh..scary

One more question : the amp unit is called " Bulldog " could it be the legendary Celestion Bulldog ? It is made in Leeds(Uk) by the way.

Greetings
