How do you think to make JSM100 acoustically more sounding instrument with improvment of tone. There are ways. What are they? Since it has high grade material used in its construction,is it worth to save by modificaton? How much the cost? As a one of project of Ibanez history, do you think JSM100 is going to be an another failure like LR10,JP20? I mean they are great instrument, but the other hand, there are some negative opinions. I think they have some good things about them, but if the guitar isn't usuful as the workhorse, it is not a real player. If you do giging around, there are certain requirements to the guitar. Thanks for your time and opinion.

For this, I would need to really get into it, First I think it is too heavy, So I would first strip off the finish and restring it, See what happens, I learned this when we worked on Pat Metheny's, I sent one to him and he had it stripped and refinished it with varnish and the sound really improved, Also I did the same for George Benson on a GB5 in Transparent Red. This guitar sounded amazing.

Guitars that are lighter in Weight tend to have more acoustic tone. To really figure it out I would need to have the guitar. On some peoples guitars I have just added wooden tailpieces and that changed the tone.

How long will it last? Well comparing it to the LR10 and JP10 is not fair because both of these players left ibanez, John has been with the company since 1978, So unless he leaves for some reason there will always be some kind of JSM model.
