It has a reverse headstock. It has a humbucker{seymour duncan}, A USAc1 in the middle, and another seymour duncan in the front position{double stacked single coil}. It also has binding along the neck and headstock. Serial# reads {891718}

It of course is stocked with a floyd. I was wondering what this guitar cost new, and what it's worth with a few dings and scratches...Thanks

These were part of the USA Custom models we made at Hoshino USA. (Metal design series), We actually stretched fabric over them in a frame press and used glue to hold it on and then sprayed a burst or clear.

They were around $1200 back then new, Today I guess in The $400 Range?

89 is from 1989

mine Ibanez Snakeskin `89 was for $550. not new. s/n is 890562. the label says it`s made in Bensalem, PA
the neck has printed "rg550r" on it, and red A letter. body has "kit560" printed. on back of course. The S/n wasn`t anywhere but the label. the tuners are Gotoh, and trem is edge.

ps
Jim, can u help me with this one ? i still guess it not a real USCG ;( the logo is slightly dim and the guitar finish isn`t so good (bumpy). can u tell me smth about this one to verify ? plz, u seems the one to know

The Kit was the body and neck that was shipped pre Made from Japan to Bensalem. the body was finished Black with one bridge Humbucker only.

The Snake skin was a Fabric we used a frame press and glue or laminate the fabric on.

Then we bursted and final finished it.

Ibanez made some stock models but also this was the begining of the USA Custom Shop so there was a price list and Spec sheet for one of a kind models, or sort of, there were options you could choose like the Neck shape, Reverse or straight headstock, Inlay, Fret board material, finish, Hardware color and pickup configuration, After the order the guitar was made to that spec.

Jim great thanx for your reply, happy new year to you!
This one is really with 1 humbucker, X2N. So i guess, it`s real.
But how about those dimmed logo ? letter 'e' has not been imprinted fully. As i understand, this couldn`t been happened due to neck wear. Could it be done so in `89?
And is there ability to get some info about USCG/RG from s/n ? maybe some email from IBZ
USA ? I have not find any address on a site or anywhere else.
ps
and the last i wanted to ask - there`s a resonant fuzzy sound from inside a guitar, like something vibrates. I fixed all the hardware, fixed springs and everything else... do you know, what it can be ? (hope it isn`t a truss rod ;( )
