hi i just got an AF200 (H110075) with a rosewood fingerboard, not an ebony one. the '92 catalog specifies rosewood as the fretboard material for the AS200/AM200 models too! what happened with ibanez that year? did you ever seen an AS200 or AM200 with rosewood fretboards? thanks p. |

Are you sure it is not just Bad Grain Ebony? Ibanez did not make an AS200 with a Rosewood fretboard. But they did have some times in History when good Rosewood was hard to get (Just like nowadays) Also this was made by Terrada factory and they could have screwed up the spec? Jim |

jim i'm sure that's rosewood, very open grain and far away from being black. my FG100 has a darker fretboard... "when good Rosewood was hard to get"... did you mean ebony? anyway the catalog says rosewood and so, even if it was an screw-up, it was quite an official one. |
