Hum, Rumors are flying. Ibanez Basses, For example the pan was to move these to Korea anyway because all the parts were Korean for the most part anyway, This is the pickups and bridges. As for High end basses made in japan the quantity was so small. And in Korea of half teh price you can get many more features, So the story on this was that Japanese basses could not compete with the Korean Basses in Features and price. Is Fuji going to Close, No. They have a good business making there History Brand for teh Japanese Domestic market. Now Ibanez making guitars at Fuji? This could change and the quantity may go down as products are moved to Korea. People need to understand that people pay for Features. If a Japanese guitar sells for $2499.00 they will sell very little and this model would probably be discontinued. So Fuji from my sources is surviving, They are still doing OK, They are making around 3500 guitars per month the last I heardm All are high End models. I think Fuji will be around for sometime, But one never knows. Jim |
