Hello.
Did Ibanez make any Jazzbass sunburst with ash body and rosewood fingerboard in '76? I've looked in the database of ibanez-vintage with no result. Maybe you can help me out.

There was model 2635 but I don't know if it was still around in'76.Here's a pic from Hasy's and Harry's site. It's from the 1974 catalog.

I allready was this far. But mine has a solid ash body with rosewood fingerboard and the 2365 has a mahogany body with a birch top and a maple fingerboard. (In'76 the catalogues showed no jazz with rosewood fretboard)

Sorry,my mistake. One thing I've learned though is that with 70's Ibanez, anything is possible. So even though it may not be in a catalog it may be on a price list or dealer sheet somewhere.

I was checking a little more on this one and 1976 was a transition year for that model. From 1970-'75 the 2365 had a rosewood board. It was in '76 that they switched to a maple board with black block inlay on the sunburst models. So,I could see some old style rosewood models being stamped '76 early in the year before the maples came out.I'm not sure of the body wood for the first 5 years though so that still leaves that question.Unless ash was used '70-75 along with the rosewood.

Thanx! Only one mistery left. I know that ash is often used by Ibanez. But I have only seen sunbursts with birch/mahogany.

I thought this out myself. When the '77 sunburst Jazz Basses have a body of ash, could explain why mine has a body of ash, too. I've seen '78 Jazzes on internet with an ash body. Just a theory, but an explainable one.
