Hi all, here's my 2350B. I can't put it down and now I'm started to sell off my guitar gear (uh oh!)

I just thought of another good reason for having posted the picture of my baby above. It seems that the previous owner had the neck unscrewed as if it had been shimmed, but didn't place any shims in the space between the neck compartment and the back of the neck. Here's a close-up of it. What should I do about this, anything? Thanks!

Hi noone!

With this crappy neck/body joint your bass will not have any chance on a proper sustain. I'd suggest you either try to tighten the bolts so that body and neck really join, or unbolt the neck and check if there is any irregularity in the necksocket or at the back of the neck part that fits into it. Maybe for some reason the bolts are too long (replacements?) and you will have to find shorter ones or cut half an inch of these ones. At any time: you should try to get the two peaces fitting together again, but if there is any doubt please have it done by a luthier.
Kind greetz,
Harry

Harry,
Thanks much for your insights. I'd been happy with it's sound, but hadn't even considered sustain issues. Though I've modded a few of my guitars, I think I'll let a pro handle this one.

Cheers!
