I have a 1975 Ibanez Precision Bass copy that I am going to have to sell. I have been trying to research this and find a general dollar value for it and I find nothing. Does anyone have an idea what the value of this might be? All input is appreciated. |

Hi Boris Value depends on what model exactly (there were more types of P-bass copies) and how the condition is. Everything original? Well used or closet condition? Please show some pictures or tell us what colour, serial number, what does the headstock say exactly etc. Kind greetz, Harry |

Hi Harry, It's a sunburst with a tortise colored pickguard typical nicks and dings, missing hand and thumb rests, serial number k752401,looks mint from 5 feet away. Oh, and a maple fretted neck with a non Fenderish truss rod cover and original case in good shape. |

Hi Boris Okay, nothing "special" here, "just" a plain sunburst Precision copy with some missing parts and original case. Built in November 1975. I'd say it will be worth around 400-450 US dollars. Kind greetz, Harry |

Hello, Harry. Now I'm curious. I have a lefty '76 ash bodied sunburst Jazz Bass. What do you think this one is worth? By the way, I will never sell it because it's quality in sound and playability. |

Olaf Wouldn't dare to hang a price tag on your bass, simply because I can't compare to what I've seen before. I could make a wild guess because your bass with a full ash body seems to be an exception to the rule and say it's worth around 600/700 dollars, but it would only be based on a "collector's feeling". Your guess about it's value is about as good as mine. But since you won't sell, it really is not an issue that matters, is it? Unless you want to have an indication for getting the bass ensured. Kind greetz, Harry |

There were ash bodied Jazz Bass models but no sunburst models. What I know is that Sam Ash ordered the same, so maybe Ibanez only builded them on demand. I've seen an ash strat with sunburst finish once. By the way, it's all original including the ashtrays (pickup covers). Harry, I want to know the value because I want to insure this beauty but I'm also curious. I guessed the same amount of value. Thanx. |
