Aleksandrrussia: I'm not familiar with the Custom AA 150 JF model. Can you send pictures to my email address (click on my username, on the left in blue). Do you have a serial number? That will help with the year of manufacture. Did you buy this in Russia? |

Aleksandr: Here's the pictures of your bass: I would have a hard time saying that this is an original Ibanez bass. The biggest problem is the logo on the headstock. I've never seen anything that looks like it. Maybe someone else here has more info to share? |

I'd be inclined to think it's a Roadstar that's had a replacement neck, amongst other things. Probably a previous owner put the transfer on the headstock to maintain its "identity". |

I shall not agree with the assumption about Roadstar. In me too caused problems logo on the headstock. I assorted the tool and I can tell, that it is factory model (quality of assembly). |

How can you be sure? If the neck pocket's a standard Fender width (which I'm certain some were) then it would be a straight swap. What's the serial number on the neckplate? I don't think Ibanez/Fuji Gen made Fender-style headstocks after about 1980, did they? Jon. |

The neck looks like it comes from a made-in-Japan bass from the 1970's, possibly a Kent or other brand, but not an Ibanez. As John said, that Ibanez logo on the headstock is in a style that Ibanez never used. Also, I don't know of an Ibanez guitar or bass that repeated the serial number (AA 150 FF) on the headstock. The body, on the other hand, looks to be from the 1980's or 1990's in terms of style. I don't know whether Ibanez used that shape or not. It's distinctive, and not exactly a Fender body style. Finally, the neck plate does have a correct Ibanez logo on it, and has what we're assuming is a serial number on it. Maybe it is a model number? My final guess is that it may be an Ibanez body from a "Custom" model bass, but that the neck is not original to the body. |

Looking closer at the neck/body combo. The body has a small routing to provide access to the truss rod. Maybe the neck and body are original to each other after all. This may just be a Russian "Ibanez" copy. I am open to other interpretations. -Chuck |
