I have this bass. It is, it appears, a '94 SR1200 neckthrough and it is fretless. I can't find it in the catalog. Is it a modification? How much is it worth? I have a chance to trade it for a G&L L-2000 Tribute. IS this a good deal? I can play the fretless okay, I guess, but I'm really just learning. Should I learn on a fretted bass and then try the fretless, or buck up and learn on the fretless? Also, which Ibanez hardshell case would fit this? Sorry so many questions in one post. |

Bassstudent~ I believe it was called the SR1200FRT model designation and was a derivative of the fretted SR1200 four string. Ibanez had a variety of SR models from a low priced bolt-on up to and including a higher priced Prestige neck through 4-5 string models. Try running a Google search on 'Ibanez SR1200' and you should get some hits. I like to use 'Metacrawler.com' since it combines multiple search engines and gets more information on obscure data. If you can give us the serial number and maybe a photo, maybe one of the guys here can offer more help. Good hunting! |

Serial number C441598 It is made by Cort, in Korea, in 1994. It matches the color and appearance of the neck through in the catalog. I just cant find a fretless model anywhere. Should I call Ibanez? |
