Hi all, I've just aquired a 1980 Musician MC900 bass, which is need of some electrical work. Does anyone have or know where I can obtain a copy of the wiring diagram. TIA |

Stonie: If the MC900 is a chrome hardware version of the MC924 (interesting that there was only a $5.00 difference in the list price), maybe this will help: http://www.noahjames.com/vintagepage/mc924.jpg If you need more help, check out Jim Donahue's offer on this page: http://www.noahjames.com/vintagepage/wiring.html |

Hi Johns, Thanks for the info and links, but unfortunately mine is not the chrome version of the MC924. The MC900 was the forerunner to the MC924 and although very similar, the circuits/wiring are different. Infact, I've already used the info on Jim's website without success and have resorted to contacting him directly for some help... so, any other ideas ? Thanks again. |

Hi, Stonie. I have an MC900NT (see the topic "Just Got My Grail" a bit down in the topic list). I can take a picture of the inards for you, and make an attempt at a wiring diagram. It won't be a professional job, though. Would that help? -Chuck PS, my guess is that the "24" in MC924 refers to the fact that the MC924 has 24 frets. The MC900 (and its non-EQ sister, the MC800) only have 22 frets. |

Yeah, so, funny story. I open the back of my MC900 and am confronted by more wires and circuit boards than I've seen in my whole life. I'm positive I won't be able to diagram what's in there, but I did take a bunch of hi-res scans at various angles to try to capture the pots and other connections. I hope they can at least give you something to go on: http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1958.jpg http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1959.jpg http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1960.jpg http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1961.jpg http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1962.jpg http://www.chucke.com/mc900/img_1963.jpg -Chuck |

Hi Chuck, Thanks for the scans but after all your effort I managed to get hold of a circuit diagram from Ibanez UK (from Japan)... if you want a copy, let me know. Again, thanks. |

A circuit diagram would be good to have, judging by the complexity of the wiring. So, yes, if you have it in electronic format, just send a copy to chucke@chucke.com. Thanks! -Chuck |

Holy $#!+... 'complex' doesn't quite describe THAT! Looks like multi-colored spaghetti in there! And the to top that... they crammed the battery in there too? Good Luck! |
