I just bought an "aquamarine"? colored Ibanez bass. The owner tells me it is a SR800 made in 1992. The serial number is: F248260. Can anyone verify that it is a SR800 model? I already understand the "2" means 1992. |

Beatlenut: I sent you this info in an email, but for the benefit of others that may be looking for the same info later, I'll repeat what I wrote to you. I have a '93 catalog that shows the Soundgear SR series and there is a 4 string, 800 model. Here's the specs: Body: Basswood Neck: 3 piece maple, 24 medium frets Fingerboard: Rosewood with Pearl dot inlays Bridge: AccuCast-B IV Hardware: Black Neck pickup: IBZ AFR-P (split) Bridge Pickup: IBZ AFR-J Regarding the controls, it says: "Our basswood body SR800 basses seemed to be beyond improvement - until we added something normally found on expensive mixing boards: a variable midrange control. This new Ibanez Vari-Mid 3-band EQ, combined with our active AFR pickups, gives players of SR professional basses an unparalleled spectrum of sounds to choose from." Colors were: Black (BK), Emerald Green (EG) and Jewel Blue (JB). It sounds like your's is EG. If you want to send a picture of it, I can check it against the catalog. Hope this helps, JohnS |
