Hi, I have an SR800LE bass, serial # F907908. How old is it? The sad thing is, I bought it new, and I just can't freakin' remember what year I bought it. Any assistance would be welcome. Also, any idea where I can get touch up paint for it? My lead guitar player has knocked it over a couple of times and chipped it badly. It's the lipstick/candy apple red color. |

Well, according to a post I just read, it looks like the serial number can be decoded with the following: Built in Japan in July of 1990...908th built that month. |

Tailgate: It's a '99. The '98 catalog lists the SR800A and the SR800. The SR800A is made of ash. The SR800s were: Body: basswood Neck: SR4 Bridge: accu-cast b20 Neck pickup: afr-p; Active Full Range P, humbucking/active, ceramic magnet. Bridge pickup: afr-j; Active Full Range J, humbucking/active, ceramic magnet. EQ: vari-mid; 1 vol., 1 balance; 1st knob: top-treble boost/cut, bottom-bass boost/cut; 2nd knob: top-mid boost/cut, bottom-mid frequency sweep. Colors: black, artic blue, cherry fudge. Your red is probably Candy Apple Red. |
