Hi all, this is my first post here and i have a question for ya... Im purchasing a vintage ibanez mod. (2365??) fretless 1973 from a friend , what should i pay him?? He wants 350$ for it and im just curious if thats enough... hes the only owner and the bass is in good condition ,the thing is that it sounds incredible, better than my fender '62 reissue!!! which is a quality bass, i browsed the internet and found a similar instrument on jan jankejes homepage, please have a look at http://www.jankeje.de/jaco_02.htm or http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jankeje.de%2Fjaco_02.htm&lp=de_en&tt=url for english translation looks all the same to me.... does not have the same sticker on the nut though, mine says "crafton garanti 175", no serial number as far as i can see. Thanks Peter |

Hi, I'm coming in just about 2 years late on this subject, but I thought you'd be interested to know that I have an Ibanez Silver Series bass that has a "Crafton Garantie" sticker on it - the number on mine is 478. I have established that my bass was made in September 1978. I think the Crafton thing is Swedish, I looked at the Crafton website www.crafton.se - but as I don't speak Swedish I haven't a clue what's being said in it! I do know though that the original owner of my guitar was Swedish. Incidentally I got mine for 60 Euro (about $80 or so) - the guy who was selling it didn't know anything about bass guitars and didn't really care either. Anyway, whoever was playing it hadn't a clue - they had a piece of wood stuck underneath the strings near the pick ups! It made the action way high on it and I have no idea what it was in aid of. Anyway I thought I'd share that - will take some photos of my baby and put them up for your information. Claire |
