Hi Cam & John, you guys helped me out previously with an SR800am. Now I need serial number breakdowns on two recent purchases. The first is an SR1200 neck thru, translucent green, flamed maple, gold hrdwr. Serial number C406717. I think the C stands for the Cort factory but am not sure of the number sequence. The second bass is an RB800, bolt neck, pointed headstock, black hrdwr, swimming pool blue, serial number F722916. Both guitars have active pre-amps. Any info you guys can offer is greatly appreciated. Michael: From the serial numbers, I'd say that the SR1200 was a '94 and the RB800 is an '87. I only have '93, '95 and '85 catalogs, so my info is probably not real accurate. Then '95 catalog shows the SR1200 in TT finish (Transparent Turquoise). The specs are: Body: Maple with figured Maple top Neck: 5 piece Maple and Walnut, neck thru Neck type: SR4 Frets: 24 Medium Fingerboard: Rosewood with Abalone Ovals Bridge: Die Cast 4 string Hardware: Gold Neck Pickup: IBZ AFR-P with VariMid 3-band EQ Bridge Pickup: IBZ AFR-J with VariMid 3-band EQ My '85 catalog only shows an RB850RV (Something Violet?) I'm not sure how close this guitar's specs would be to your's. Do the pickups have black covers with no pole pieces or blades showing? Are the active electronics built into the pickups or in the control cavity? Do you have a picture of it that you could send? |

John: The SR1200 has round pearl dots, adx-p & adx-j pus and the color is definitly green, it may be a different year. The RB800 has the black pick up cover w/no pole pieces and the pre-amp is in the control cavity. I think the color may be arctic blue. I don't have the ability to send a picture at this time. |
