Hi folks,
I'm now the proud owner of a lovely old MC-940 in great shape, but I'm thinking of making a few minor tweaks to make it more usable. Firstly, does anyone know if it's pretty simple to replace the pickup selector switch with a blend pot? I love the sound of the rear pickup, but just want to blend in a bit of the front one, so the switch is pretty useless. (Especially as the front pickups on these tend to be much louder!) Also, does anyone know what actual construction the stock pickups are? I've heard they are humbuckers and maybe they also have some electronics within the pickup casing themselves. Anyone had a look or tried out the EMG Magic Paper on them to see what magnets are inside there?

Hey, is anyone able to tell me where the battery wires (red and black) connect to in these basses? I've just put all the guts back in the bass after trying something different and can't remember where they go. Maybe to the jack-plug socket? Or the active/passive switch? Or the active boost level control? I've looked at all of them many times and can't see evidence of where the wires used to be soldered. The passive circuit is working fine, just need to power up the active circuit so it's all working again.

In case anyone in future ends up with the same question, I figured it out. The battery red/black wires just connect to the jack plug socket. The red goes to a terminal with red&orange wire connected and the black goes to where the existing black earth wire is connected. Seeemple!
