My Soundgear (unknown model, see previous post) is currently non-functional. The output is very, very low - by putting it through my old four-track and turning the trim up to "Mic", I do get sound - a steady distorted tone when left alone, when I play notes I hear them somewhat distorted, but when they fade it goes back to the steady tone. The volume and tone knobs do not work normally - instead, they just adjust the pitch of that steady tone. Any thoughts on the cause for the electronically ignorant? I'm actually looking to sell it, but obviously it would help to fix it first - how much might it cost to have a pro fix it? Thanks. |

Thats a tough one But my thoughts are you have an open circuit or even your earth has come loose. I would open the back cavity plate and have plugged in and just touch each of the wires until you find the one that is no good.. If that fails check your input jack is connected properly (again moved the wires around..) |

Thanks, but I already tried that - fiddling with the wires had no audible effect. I also pulled the pickups, no luck. |
