I apparently have an RS800 which is a natural finish long neck sucker with two battery-powered pick ups...I think it was made circa 1980 and I remember paying $275 (canadian) for it at a pawn shop sometime about 1986 or so...
I like it because I like finger slap on my runs once in a while and because it plays and can sound a lot like my old Rickenbacker ...adjusting the sound on the pickups can be a pain sometimes though, I often find it too high end or too muffled.....though that's because I play in a cover band and we're often switching sounds a lot to cover the material.....anyone have any idea what this instrument is worth for insurance purposes?. |

Further to my post....I have now discovered it's a 1980 RS920....valued at between US$300 and US$600...anyone have any experiences with this instrument and can validate the price? |

Me again....got a slight problem with the RS920...the bass tone pot isn;t working, could be a loose wired that was badly repaired...but the proshop guy says he needs a schematic...anyone help me out...the bass has just been set up real nice and playsgreat...there is lots ofmid and high end put the low end rumble is kinda flat without the basspot. |

Hello
Just bought a roadster RS900 or RS9??, it is original fretless, not defretted, from a guy who didn't know what he had at all (heard that before), for 100 Euro, case included,
unbelievable a great stroke of luck. It is near mintshape with a very nice color dark brown i say almost near purple? The sound is amazing. Can anyone tell if it is a rare (vintage?) model,it was build in 1979. I am not used to play fretless,so is it worth it to fret te neck? or leave it in original state.
