At the same time I bought my pf10nt, the guy had a tobacco sunburst acoustic with the in line tuners like an electric. I almost bought it, but I liked the sound of the pf10 better. It had a real nice sound with more low end. The guy said it was a 70's model, but I have yet to see it in any of the vintage catalogs. I was wondering if that type of headstock was common in the early days, or is it really a newer guitar?

I now see that it was most likely a lonestar.
Any Ideal on how much one in decent shape(pick guard scratchs only) would be worth?

Earthdog:

I believe Acetan has several of Lonestars.

Have you done a Search on the word Lonestar in the Acoustic section to see what else has been written about them?

I have a Lonestar nylon string - great instrument: skinny electric (nato) neck (inline 6 on a side tuners) spruce top, thin mahogany hollow body with cutaway, volume and tone pots on top (about where you would find them on say a Les Paul). I like playing nylon string but hate the really fat wide necks. I paid $300.00 for my Lonestar (I think a LE450) on eBay, only guy that bid on it. Hope this helps.

The Lonestars line-up. From left to right: LE405; LE420; LE450; and LE520.

Beautiful collection!
Was there alot of variation in the lonestar line?
The one I saw had centered fret dots and it was not a thin body, although nothing I've read indicates that they all were thin bodies. I'm not sure cause it's not in front of me, but I think it had a standard round sound hole also. Headstock looks the same though.

Acetan:

Cool catalog. I've never seen it before. What year is it from?

Put a cutaway (like the LS335), gold Grover machines and an electronics system into either of the LS550s and I'd buy it new today.
