Appears to be a Les Paul body with a set-in neck, Super 70s pups, no serial number, different-style headstock and pickguard, special inlays. It belongs to a friend and it was his regular playing guitar in a band for 10 years. He put it away about 5 years ago, and it needs a new jack and switch. It's on the heavy side of the scales and the gold-tone hardware is getting faded. What you have is a nice looking 2405AV AKA Custom Agent. Yours is considered somewhat of a "transition" model. It has the later bug emblem below the logo on the headstock and a pickguard without the "Custom Agent" engraving, both common with the later 76+ models. Although it does have the engraved logo pickups and keystone tuners like the pre-serial models (75). The guitar itself is not extremely rare. Granted you don't see them everyday, but they do pop up from time to time on eBay. As for the value, I've seen the Antique Violin models range anywhere from 700-1200 USD. Since your friend's appears all original, the headstock scroll is intact and looks like its in nice cosmetic shape, I would guestimate around $800-950 USD in 9+ condition. The fact that the switch and jack require service will certainly lower the value. Heavy buckle rash or other cosmetic issues will also affect its value. Also, it looks like it could use a fret buffing to get rid of that corrosion, and B and E strings to boot! Do youself a favor and click the "Search" link on the left side of the screen under "Utilities" and perform a keyword search for "Custom Agent" and 2405. I'm really just an obsessed collector ! Nice job on the description Jeff couldn't have said it better myself..... The logo pickups and original pickguard are a definate plus for the value of this particular guitar, and I agree on the assesment of a "transitonal model" due to the combination of Logo pups and "bug" inlay. I am intrigued at the comment that it is "on the heavy side" as these guitars are plywood/block construction and are kinda light (except for the "solid" cousins the 2475).... How 'bout a "tap test" ? The back of this guitar is in pristine condition, as he never wore a buckle when playing. I weighed it and it comes in at 8 pounds, 4.5 oz. The tap test reveals "hollow" sounds from around the bridge area, and solid from around the pickup area. It's probably the fact that I haven't picked up a musical instrument for the last 15 years that made me forget what these wooden wonders weigh! Thanks again, Jesse
