I have in my stable, what I believe to be a 1977 Ibanez IC400 Iceman. Serial # is K777451, which i take to be a Iceman, made in October of 1977, #7451 (?) made that month. The guitar is tobacco sunbirst, with two humbucking piclkops, 4 pots, a 3 position toggle on the top of the guitar body, neck through design and a standard Les Paul styke tailpiece with a really nice bridge. So am I in he ballpark on he age and serial #? |

To check model specs: http://216.250.245.172/vintagepage/iceman.html For comparison to '78 specs: http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1978/p24.jpg http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1978/p23.jpg Mark Hartman's site: http://vintageibanez.tripod.com/main.html Should be some info there that helps you positively identify your Iceman. I've got a '78 IC200, and it's a fantastic guitar, and I've played one IC400 before and that was fantastic (though the shop had overpriced it somewhat! IMO). |

Will get pics this afternoon, loks like a '78 IC200 instead of IC400, no maple top and no pearl tuners, I don't really care, just wanted to be sure of what I got. It has really been through a lot, someone at one point stepped on the cord while playing, causing some pretty severe damage aound the input jack, and the body has more than is fair share of nicks and bruises. I would like to find an original truss rod cover, but tehy seem as rare as hens teeth. cruzerjd |

but tehy seem as rare as hens teeth. Welcome to the world of old Ibanez guitars! ;) My IC200 has definitely seen a bit of action too, and sounds the better for it IMO! |
